Why this product is in the Depot

I included these winter boots because paw protection is critical for maintaining mobility in cold climates. Beyond just warmth, boots protect sensitive senior paws from the stinging cold, ice build-up between toes, and caustic road salt. For an older dog, the discomfort of freezing paws can make them refuse to walk, leading to muscle stiffness and a loss of outdoor enrichment.

How I use it

I got Maya her Muttluks in the winter of 2021 when she was 12. Before that, she wasn’t bothered by the snow, but she began “dancing” in the cold—lifting her paws and refusing to move. Over the years, her sensitivity has increased; she used to only need them at –35°C, but now at nearly 17, she wears them when it hits -15°C. I like these because they provide warmth and grip while staying flexible. While I misplaced a boot occasionally at the start, once we established a solid dressing routine and I learned the right tension for the straps, they stayed on perfectly. She is still using her original pair!

Why I recommend it
